Goal: Protection of Civil Rights

Many people are upset about the murder of George Floyd and others before him. Black citizens should not need to worry about walking down the street or driving a car. It takes 5 minutes to demand action and results from your Congressman and Senator:

Step # 1: Look up your Congressman.

Subject: Protection of Civil Rights

Congressman/Senator <Last Name>,

I hope this message finds you well. I am shocked and disgusted at the murder of George Floyd. Now is the time to influence change. I am asking you to champion legislation to prevent future occurrences (e.g. [1] banning choke holds, [2] requirements for state attorney generals to take over cases where a police officer's actions result in death and [3] suspension of "qualified immunity" in cases where a citizen dies in police custody).

I'm sure you will agree that thoughts and prayers are not sufficient. These are civil rights issues.

Please understand that I will hold you accountable for your actions/inaction when it comes time to vote.

Thanks for your service to our country,

<Your first and last name>

Step # 3: Look up your Senator and send them a message.
